Harwin has announced the introduction of a new female-side contact connector for the Datamate connector that significantly increases the power level of the transmission. The T-Contact contact connector features a unique patented 6-finger design that is machined from a beryllium copper to increase the current capacity of a compact 2mm pitch interconnect system with up to 8.5A per contact. The new product, T-Contact, further improves the size, weight and power (SWaP) parameters of Harwin's popular Datamate connector and meets the increasing power demands of engineers in modern space-constrained designs.
The innovative patented design of these components enables more contact points, enhancing the impact resistance (100G) and vibration resistance of the new product (6 hours 40G – 2 hours per axis). The crimp barrel supports 22AWG cable and meets IPC-A-620 harness specifications. The gold-plated contacts ensure reliable performance even in the most demanding applications (meeting US military standards, etc.). This also means that up to 1000 high number of insertions can be made, extending the life of the matching connector. The new product has an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.
Compared to existing Datamate contact connectors, T-Contact's contact cleaning capability is increased by 60%, which improves self-cleaning and reduces the possibility of surface contamination. To complement these ground-breaking contact connectors, Harwin also offers a variety of double-row housings with different threads, and stocks are available in different sizes from 4 to 50.
The main target applications for new products include defense, avionics (control systems, radar, drones, etc.), racing cars (navigation systems, sensors, telemetry equipment), industrial automation (drive/control, robotics, motion control systems), and satellites. Wait.
