1. Saw a suitable length of seamless steel pipe to remove burrs at the port. The end face of the pipe should be perpendicular to the axis with an angular tolerance of no more than 0.5°. If the pipe needs to be bent, the length of the straight section from the end face of the pipe to the curved portion must not be less than three times the length of the nut.

2. Put the nut and the ferrule on the seamless steel pipe. Pay attention to the direction of the nut and the ferrule. Do not reverse it.

3. Apply lubricant to the pre-assembled joint body threads and ferrules, insert the tube into the joint body, (the tube must be inserted all the way) and tighten the nut by hand.

4. Tighten the nut until the ferrule catches the tube. This turning point can be felt (pressure point) by the increase of the tightening torque.

5. After reaching the pressure point, tighten the compression nut 1/2 turn.

6. Remove the pre-assembled joint body and check the embedding of the edge of the ferrule. The visible protruding strip must fill the space of the end face of the ferrule. The ferrule can be rotated slightly but not axially.

7. Final installation, apply the lubricating oil and the compression nut to the thread of the joint body in actual installation, and tighten it until the sensible tightening force increases. Then tighten the 1/2 turn to complete the installation.

Second, the card sleeve connector installation instructions:

During the installation, the socket joints of the ferrule joints should be cleaned inside and outside the joints of the ferrule joints. The joints must be smoothed and the surface should not have burrs and uneven surfaces. Moreover, there should be no bending of the joint between the take-over and the ferrule joint, otherwise the joint between the ferrule joint and the steel pipe may be leaked. The steel pipe at both ends of the connected ferrule joint is preferably a uniform material pipe to prevent leakage.

After the steel pipe is embedded in the ferrule joint body, the strength of starting the fastening of the ferrule should not be too large. The ferrule should be screwed to the end of the thread or 2/3, and the ferrule should be fastened with a wrench.

Fourth, the card sleeve type pipe joint installation standards:

The ferrule type pipe joint has the advantages of simple structure, convenient use and no welding. The author has summarized some experiences through years of practice and achieved good results. However, in the medium and high pressure hydraulic system, if it is improperly handled, it will cause leakage and affect its promotion and use. The best choice of steel pipe is to eliminate stress-annealed 20# fine-drawn pipe, which is beneficial to the inner edge of the ferrule embedded in the outer surface of the steel pipe to provide a reliable sealing effect.

(1) pre-installed

1 pre-installation force should not be too large. There are mainly types of ferrule-type longitudinal pipe joints, ferrule-type end longitudinal joints, and ferrule-type three-way joints.

The exact approach should be to connect the connector at one end of the tube and the corresponding connector to be pre-assembled with the same type of connector to minimize leakage. In a detailed manner, a joint body is used as a mother body, and the nut and the ferrule are pressed onto the tube. Joints with small pipe diameters can be pre-assembled in the vise length. If the deformation of the ferrule is severe when pre-assembled, the sealing effect will be lost. After the pipe is sawn, it should be ground and smoothed on tools such as grinding wheels, and the burrs should be removed, cleaned and washed with high-pressure air before use. A dedicated preloader is generally required.

2 The end face of the pipe should be flush. The author found that even the unified batch of uniform manufacturers, the depth of the tapered holes on these joints are often different, resulting in leakage, and this problem is often overlooked. The inner edge of the ferrule should be inserted into the outer wall of the tube, and the ferrule should not be significantly deformed.

3 When pre-installing, the coaxiality of the pipe and the joint body should be kept as much as possible. If the pipe is too skewed, the seal will be invalid.

The pre-assembly of 4 ferrule fittings is the most important link, which directly affects the reliability of the seal. The tightening force of the φ6-10mm ferrule is 64-115N, φ16mmr 259N, and φ18mm is 450N. When connecting the pipes, assemble them according to the specified tightening force.

(2) When connecting the pipeline, it should be tight at one time to avoid multiple disassembly, otherwise the sealing function will be deteriorated.

(3) When connecting the pipeline, the pipe should have sufficient deformation allowance to avoid the tensile stress of the pipe.

(4) It is forbidden to add fillers such as sealant.

(5) When connecting the pipeline, avoid the lateral force, and the lateral force is too large to cause the seal to be tight. In order to obtain a better sealing effect, a sealant is applied to the ferrule, and as a result, the sealant is rushed into the hydraulic system, causing malfunctions such as blockage of the hydraulic component orifice.
